This hotel is not beachfront for once on our trip, giving us some time to do some city/town exploring. This hotel is located about 15 minutes away, (walking) from the main shopping district, but has good reviews about being clean and affordable. Looking to book it for May, the cost was 250 THB a night ($9CAD) which fits perfectly into our price range.
Activities:
Flying Hunuman
This looks like a really cool thing to do, since anything that gives me an adrenaline rush will leave me thinking about it for days! Flying Hunuman is a zip trek adventure that is 40 meters above a jungle and gives you a really unique angle to view the beautiful surrounding jungle!

Not for the faint of heart |
Who wants to go away for 3 weeks, eat amazing food and then when they come home not know how to make it for themselves? Not me! Looking into cooking classes is a great thing to do since you get to both learn all the traditional tricks and secrets of the food, as well as eating it... In Phuket there are so many cooking schools that we could roam around in the town looking at different prices/dishes before settling on which to choose.
Off the Beaten Trail
Connecting with the locals and being able to explore with no plan is something we would love to do in Phuket. Having time to explore different aspects of the culture is something important to the 4 of us. This activity is having no activity!
Food:
Local street eats day by day, but one night we have to brush our hair and put on our clean(est) clothes and go for dinner at Baan Rim Pa. This restaurant is supposed to make your taste buds tingle with every good sensation there is. We can class it up sometimes! (I hope)
Nightlife in Phuket is supposed to be very different from the expectation of "us" in the west. Phuket is named the "Sin City" of the Thai Islands and it has some pretty good reasons why it got the name. Phuket's night life is located on Bangla Road and revolves all around "the girls."They are for rent, for hire, for the night, for a dance, and just for looking. There is apparently no hiding it and in Phuket they are very open about it. Cultural differences? Maybe but what is so different from this compared to Vegas? Food for thought.

When night falls all you will see is girls, girls and more girls. |
Transportation:
When I looked into going from Phuket back to Bangkok, it seemed utterly impossible to do it by bus or by ferry boat, so that's when I looked into flying and found out that AirAsia offers some great deals. I got us flights out of Phuket on May 26th at 6:00am and arriving in Bangkok at 7:25am for 1290 THB ($50 CAD). That is outrageously cheap for a flight that in Canada would cost around $300 dollars.
