We leave
Vancouver and have a connection in Shanghai before finishing the long Journey
to Bangkok. The total travel time on the way there is just over 19 hours, and 21 hours on the way home, which is long but in hind sight seems
pretty standard. When I was looking at flights, I was shocked to be able to
find such a good deal as paying just over a thousand dollars for the round trip.
Usually flights are upwards of two thousand dollars, but maybe since we are
booking it so far in advance, it helped us bring the costs down. Flying with 4 girls really makes us a target in
the airports but we’ve all travelled a lot before and will (hopefully) have our wits
about us. Since we have short enough connections in Shanghai both times, we can just stay in the airport and "veg" before boarding our upcoming flight. Thailand better get ready for us!!

Along with
our round trip flight from Vancouver to Bangkok and home, we have also booked a
flight from Phuket to Bangkok on AirAsia. AirAsia offers some great deals when
flying within Thailand from island to island or even within the mainlands to
other parts of the world. A flight from Phuket to Bangkok was $1,290.00 THB which works out to $50.00 CAD which is supper cheap compared to some Air Canada prices..
Since we are backpacking we are going to be checking through 1 piece of luggage each (our backpacks), along with having a carry on.
A neck pillow, cosmo magazines, and snacks are a must!!
